As a sports journalist for 7 years, I made a living asking questions and telling stories. Every time I interviewed someone, I carved out time to research so I could ask thoughtful questions about people’s stories.

Your stories are your secret sauce that lead to long-term relationships and yes, sales.

Take it from me, if you never experience challenges in your life, your story is actually kind of boring.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy as a teenager, laid from a job I loved in 2015, and suffered a miscarriage in 2024.

My mom didn’t get why I was so obsessed with watching New Orleans Saints games as a kid and NEVER wanted to shop with her on a Sunday afternoon.

Until I got a job sports reporting in a tiny town … and met my husband there.

I didn’t understand why I got laid off or why my baby boy died when I was 12 weeks pregnant.

Until God reminded me I don’t just have one chapter in my story.
